In the midst of the fast-paced city life, finding moments of tranquility and peace can be a challenge. However, the Hand Made Nanning Mixc store, designed by Denver Hsu, offers a unique space where customers can redefine their leisure time. Drawing inspiration from the birdsong tree and the comforting presence of grandma's eaves, this store exudes a sense of calm amidst the hustle and bustle.

What sets Hand Made Nanning Mixc apart is its innovative approach to design. The layout incorporates the concept of full open cooking, allowing customers to witness the traditional cooking techniques while enjoying their drinks. This not only adds authenticity to the experience but also creates a delectable and inviting atmosphere.

The design team behind Hand Made Nanning Mixc made clever use of the site's characteristics. Taking cues from the shape of a cylinder, screens, and hanging elements, they created an interesting and visually appealing space. The result is a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary elements that captivate the senses.

The Hand Made Nanning Mixc store covers a total area of 130 square meters, divided into different sections including a dining space, kitchen, electric room, open kitchen, and hallway. Each area is thoughtfully designed to maximize functionality and create a seamless flow throughout the store.

One of the key considerations in the design process was the interaction between the space and its visitors. The spacious and bright atmosphere fosters a connection between natural textures and building block techniques. The introduction of a curved screen transforms the relationship between different spaces, enhancing the play of light and shadow and establishing a new flow within the store.

The Hand Made Nanning Mixc project was completed in Nanning between July and October 2020. Throughout the design process, the team focused on simplifying complexity and ensuring exquisite workmanship. The color palette, featuring light wood tones, gray natural marble, and white accents, creates an elegant and timeless ambiance that evokes a sense of nostalgia.

Despite the challenges faced during the design process, the Hand Made Nanning Mixc store successfully embodies a quiet and generous atmosphere. The use of basic materials such as logs, washed stone, paint, and bronze highlights the space's natural and unique characteristics.
